Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the OPUS Directory application and services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
Eligibility
The OPUS Directory is exclusively available to verified members of the Prince Hall Affiliated (PHA) York Rite Jurisdiction of Maryland. By registering for an account, you represent and warrant that:
- You are a current member in good standing of a recognized York Rite body in the Prince Hall Affiliated jurisdiction of Maryland.
- You are at least 18 years of age.
- The information you provide during registration is accurate, current, and complete.
- You will maintain and promptly update your information to keep it accurate.
Account Registration and Security
When you create an account with the Service, you agree to:
- Provide truthful, accurate, and complete registration information.
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your password and any two-factor authentication methods.
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
- Enable two-factor authentication within the grace period provided after initial registration.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the OPUS Directory only for its intended purpose of professional networking among fraternal members. You agree NOT to:
- Use the directory information for commercial solicitation, spam, or unsolicited marketing.
- Share, sell, or distribute member contact information to third parties outside the fraternal community.
- Misrepresent your identity, lodge affiliation, rank, or membership status.
- Use the Service to harass, intimidate, or harm other members.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other user accounts, the server, or any related systems.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access or scrape data from the Service.
- Upload or share any content that is unlawful, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
Member Directory and Profile Information
By creating a profile in the OPUS Directory, you understand and agree that:
- Your occupational information, name, lodge affiliation, and contact details you choose to share will be visible to other verified members of the directory.
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information in your profile.
- Administrative officers (Grand Secretary, District Deputy Grand Masters) may view and manage your profile information for lodge administration purposes.
SMS Messaging Program
If you enroll a mobile phone number for SMS-based two-factor authentication (2FA), you agree to receive one-time verification codes by text message from OPUS at that number. Message frequency depends on your sign-in activity (typically 0–5 messages per month). Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. OPUS does not share, sell, lease, or otherwise transfer phone numbers collected for SMS 2FA to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Service providers such as Twilio receive the phone number solely to deliver the message and may not use it for any other purpose. You may disable SMS 2FA at any time from Account Settings → Security in the OPUS app, which immediately stops all messages to that number.
Intellectual Property
The OPUS Directory application, including its design, logos, features, and content (excluding user-submitted information), is the property of OPUS Directory and its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without express written permission.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, including but not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms and Conditions.
- Loss of good standing in your lodge, chapter, or the Grand Lodge jurisdiction.
- Misuse of directory information or member contact details.
- At the direction of Grand Lodge administrative officers.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease, and your profile will be deactivated.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. OPUS Directory makes no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, availability, or fitness of the Service for any particular purpose. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
